Men’s flannel shirt in 18th century style – turquoise small check – medium only
£65.00
These shirts are made from a remnant of vintage Viyella probably dating from the 1970s, it is a puppytooth check in turquoise and cream, a mid-century shade, it has a nice soft handle.
The colour is turquoise and cream check – the folded shirt shows the shade best, in the photos of the model the shirt looks greener than it is in reality. Greens are tricky to photograph.
Vintage Viyella is a blend of wool and cotton that is no longer made, originally marketed as unshrinkable fine flannel.
The style is 18th century and the fit is generous.
This mans shirt is cut to an historic pattern with the front and back cut as a single piece. It features neck and underarm gores, and gathering at the wrists and sleeve head. Also a piece running across shoulder for strength (see photo).
The front slit opening closes with a button at the collar and 3 buttons on the front neck opening.
The cuffs are fastened by buttons. The shirt goes on over the head and the collar can be worn up or folded back.
The garment is sewn by machine with internal seams finished by over locking.
