Many of our customers are looking for something unique and individual. As small scale makers Elgar shirts cannot compete with the high street on either price or for fast changing fashion. So we offer the garments and the services that they cannot provide.
We are happy to make specials orders for our customers. We like to know what people want and it helps us to extend our range. So, if you require extra inches, or a smaller cut, we can help. If it is special fabric or styles, then we may well be able to help.

Made to measure approx. £5.00 extraIf you are a non-stock size we can cut and make any of our products to fit you. We prefer to measure you ourselves. If that isn’t possible, get a friend to measure you accurately. We will ask for any additional information that may help us to gauge your shape.
- Chest – accurate body measurement – don’t just guess
- Height – helps us to ask you the right questions
- Tum – for those on the large size, we need to know your biggest bit
- Shirt collar size – measure neck, not too tight, should be able to comfortably place a finger under tape
- Shirt sleeve length – measurement is from spine at nape of neck, round bent arm to wrist bone.

We have a small range of good quality shirting remnants – customers can choose one of these for us to make up into a shirt or nightshirt.
Because these are remnants they are available at slightly less than the normal price.
Email to say what cloth /colour you are looking for, and if we have anything suitable in stock we will send you photos or fabric swatches.

Provided it is suitable for the garment, we can make up customer’s own cloth into any garment in our range – at a cost of £30 to £60 tbc
